Gingerbread for me is the quintessential flavor of Christmas. I absolutely love it, and during the holiday season, I try to incorporate that flavor into as many things as I possibly can. One of my favorite ways to do this is in this healthy gingerbread protein smoothie. This smoothie put’s a delicious seasonal spin on your traditional protein shake, and let’s you enjoy that gingerbread taste you love without all of the calories that usually accompany it.

A festive, holiday take on your traditional protein smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 medium/large banana
- 1 (30 grams or 2 Tbsp.) scoop of vanilla protein powder (I use RawFusion)
- 1.5 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- A dash of nutmeg
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 5 drops liquid stevia or 1 Tbsp. blackstrap molasses
- 1 Tbsp. chia seeds or ground flax to make smoothie thicker (optional)
Instructions
- Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smoothie is completely smooth.
